Kinaru is a new ensemble, artistically directed by Tal Arbel (viola da gamba & recorders) together with Ophira Zakai (Lute & Theorbo), Gideon Brettler (baroque guitar) and Amnon Yoel (percussion).
Kinaru was the god of Lyre (ancient harp) in Ugarit, a patron of music in the Middle East. According to various sources his name probably refers to the word Violin or Kinneret (the sea of Galilee).
The Ensemble is currently working on its program for the 2019-2020 concert season:
Dulcinea My Love - Spanish baroque music inspired by the story of Don Quixote.
More details coming soon!

Tal Arbel is a qualified personal coach, specialising in self-efficacy and self-management for adults and children coping with ADHD (attention deficit & hyperactivity disorder).
Like athletes, young musicians face many challenges such as managing their time, planning a practice routine, preparing for performance, and issues regarding their personal image that hinder them from believing in their own abilities. Many tools from the world of personal coaching can be used in order to promote them towards achieving their goals while learning correct habits, self-awareness and working on individual strengths.
Tal offers a process of focused guidance for music students starting junior high age.
